Patrik Wheater, 
Managing Director

A technical shipping journalist, editor and PR director with  more than 20 years’ experience, Patrik served in the Royal Navy prior to embarking on a career in maritime journalism and communications.

Patrik has edited a number of industry publications, including Marine Engineers Review, Shipping World & Shipbuilder, and Lloyd's List International Shipping Technology. He has also  contributed to a significant number of broadcast and print publications, including BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales, Channel News Asia, The Independent, Tradewinds, the Straits Times, Lloyd's List, and The New Scientist.

He established Seaborne Communications in 2015.


Bill Thomson, 

Following a career in engineering design, Bill entered marine technical journalism in the 1980s, working for recreational boating magazines. He then went on to edit some of the shipping industry's foremost titles, including The Motorship, Safety at Sea and Marine Propulsion International. 

Simon Gutteridge, 

With thirty-five years experience in maritime publishing and events, both in the commercial and not for profit associations sectors, Simon looks after our events, webinars and conferences


Jackie Gaffney, 
Operations Manager

With over twenty years' experience managing key accounts for Unilever followed by ten years as a High Level Teaching Assistant, Jackie carries out research requirements and manages Seaborne's back-office administrative functions
